Just call it 'Music' by ~Lady-X:iconLady-X:

the tune in my mind has flowed perfectly for years,
or so I'd like to think.
it's a wondeful melody, with a few simple notes,
unknown to the world around me.

as the years went on,
the melody became more.
half notes became quarter notes,
quarters became sixteenths.

my utterly blissful tune seemed to grow,
each new experience pushing it along.
my voice knew it was the only way
i could say the things i needed to say.

it had no lyrics, only notes,
and it had never been disturbed.
all until that night,
when the melody became more composed.

there was no longer a single line,
for it had been joined by a harmony.
the melody was now a song,
lacking in what it needed most.

the lyrics were all it needed;
years of work were nearly complete.
the lyrics are now being written,
by someone who does so beautifully.

what started off as a tune in my mind,
has now become the perfect song.
the perfect song for you and i,
to sing together until the end of time.

thank you.

Author's Comments

Okay, we all know I'm not a writer. I never have been, nor will I ever win a Pulitzer for a novel, a compliation of poetry, whatever.

I'm in an odd mood, one I've never experienced before, so I wrote this; but not on purpose. I was to write about my name, and instead I wrote the words in my head. I don't know if you'd call it poetry or prose, i don't feel like it deserves a classification.

There are two extremely important people in my life and this is how I feel about them. They've brought harmony, ideas, and even utter chaos to my simple life - but I wouldn't have it any other way. They're helping me grow and learn more about myself, so thanks to you both. I'm sorry if I've ever caused problems from it, but learning is by doing. I know it's complicated, and gets everyone down, but I'm trying, I'm growing, and someday, I'll understand.

I'm sure you know who you are  And this is for you.

Wow, that is powerful. I have no knowledge of music at all, but it still makes sense. This is pretty beautiful. You can just almost hear a melody as you read this, and then imagery just comes flowing out of it, and the voice picks up, reaching perfect pitch of tone. Instant classic, instant favorite. Sorry for putting off reading this.

heh, thanks :aww: i really appreciate it...guess i'm a better writer than i thought...never written 'poetry' before :giggle: and don't worry about it, the fact that you read it is enough for me!!

That was something very enjoyable. The melody is sweet and pleasant, and coupled with the recondite words, is easily enthralling. And that last line! You should definitely write more. :)

heh, thank you  i noly seem to write when there's something in my mind, keeping me from sleeping, or if i go to start homework, and words come out instead of calculus. i'm putting up a new piece in my scraps, mostly because i don't think it's worthy of deviation-hood....it reads awkwardly. but thank you  i really appreciate it.
